BEHIND THE APPEARANCE

“Growing up, I spent nine summers attending camp in Burnet, Texas. I loved every minute of it, from the friendships formed to the crafts and the campfire. So, it felt very authentic to my own childhood to kick off The Land of the Pines book tour at CAMP Dallas. The event was co-hosted by Paige Chenault, founder of The Birthday Party Project, and her daughter, Lizzie.

Like many, I have followed Paige’s success for years. Paige founded The Birthday Party Project in 2012, whose mission is to bring JOY to children experiencing homelessness through the MAGIC of a birthday celebration. The Birthday Party Project has celebrated 13,000 birthdays and hosted 2,500 parties.

I created the Loodor Tales book series to reinforce the importance of kindness. I hope to inspire readers to become their best selves and encourage empathy on one’s journey to self-discovery.

As an author, I was proud to have introduced The Land of the Pines alongside Paige. As a human, I was honored to share a moment with someone whose mission I have admired for many years.”
